HES Heritage Awareness Day

Dundonald Castle and Visitor CentreFriday 6th October from 12:00-16:00

Historic Environment Scotland are hosting their very first Heritage Awareness Day which will take place on Friday 6th October 2017.

We have came up with a great way for you to get involved and learn a little bit more about what Heritage is and what it does for everyone.

What does the word ‘Heritage’ mean to you? Hertiage can mean so many things to so many different people and we would like to show you just how diverse this can be!

To celebrate #HeritageDay17 we would love for you to bring along something you find lying around the house which you think can help us explore what Heritage means. To help give you ideas, over the coming weeks, our staff and volunteers will be posting their own objects with a description of how these relate to Hertiage in our ‘Heritage Object of the Week’ on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Come along and join us on Friday 6th October for a day of fun and learning between 12-4pm and help raise awareness for Hertiage in our local community. Remember to bring along your own items too!

If you can’t make it along for the main day on Friday, don’t worry because we’ll be running this Saturday and Sunday too, why not pop in and see some of the intriguing things we’ve been gathering?
