Night Before Christmas Campaign
November 1, 2019 @ 10:00 am – November 30, 2019 @ 4:00 pm
For a second year we will be collection donations on behalf of the Night Before Christmas Campaign
They have officially launched their Christmas gift campaign for December 2019, this is their 5th campaign and they are so grateful for everyone’s donations, without your support this wouldn’t be possible. In 2018, they distributed 2281 boxes/backpacks to children and adults in need all over the southwest of Scotland.
Please see below for details on donating.
This Year, you can support a child or adult by donating one of the following:
•a gift box for a child (0-18)
•a gift box for an adult (18+); and/or
•a bag pack filled with items for the homeless.
Keep an eye out as we are also setting up a just giving page for cash donations.
If you want to donate a completed box to our campaign, please follow the below steps.
1: Decide who you would like to donate to, by gender or age. (You could also decide to do a gender neutral box/backpack that could go to anyone.) *Remember each box should be unique as it will be filled with your own family traditions and should be special for the child who receives it.
2: Fill the boxes with items that would make Christmas Eve extra special. For example, nice new pyjamas and slippers for Santa coming, a Christmas book or activity, reindeer dust for the kids to sprinkle outside, some hot chocolate to have before going to bed. Add a ‘wow’ item such as a doll, cuddly toy or a toy car (relevant to their age). You could also fill your shoebox with a selection of fun toys, hygiene items and school supplies.
3: Donate your box to us via our drop off locations or Elf service. Contact us via messenger or email for more information on locations near you
We also accept donations of individual items such as teddy’s, toiletries, clothes and food for foodbank’s.
IMPORTANT: Please note we can only accept gifts which are new items. Also please do not wrap items or tape the box shut as we need to check the boxes before distributing.
We will run a series of sessions putting together donations into the boxes. Please get in touch if you would like to help with that. (You do not have to donate in order to help).
To donate items, please drop in to our visitor centre during the month of November between 10am and 4pm. 7 days a week.
You can of course complete your own box and drop into us if you prefer.
