Seasonal Events

The Castle Events team organise lots of events, throughout the year. From a spooky School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at Halloween, to a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Easter and our ‘Dig It in Dundonald’ launch in June, our Castle is alive with fun and games. They are always thinking of something new, and this year there will be Ghost Walks to add to the list, not to mention exciting opportunities to get involved in real, hands-on archaeology.

Historical Re-enactments

Historic Environment Scotland holds re-enactments at the Castle, throughout the year. It’s a memorable experience to witness characters from your imagination come to life and tell stories from the past. Watch, as Robert the Bruce defends the hill against English soldiers, or witness local rogues take their punishment in the stocks. Have a go at falconry or learn how to use medieval weaponry! These events make a wonderful family day out for all ages!
