Dundonald Castle

Getting Here

Dundonald Castle is well located for local and international visitors.
For those coming into Scotland through the ferry port at Troon or Prestwick Airport Dundonald Castle is located no more than ten minutes drive from either.

From both the airport and the ferry terminal you simply follow the signs to Irvine on the A78 and pick up the brown tourist signs for Dundonald Castle.

From Glasgow and central Scotland , the new M77 makes reaching the Castle so much easier… follow the Motorway all the way to Kilmarnock and once again pick up the brown tourist board signs. With the new road Dundonald is around thirty minutes from the city centre.

By Public Transport - Dundonald village is served by several Stagecoach bus services, check http://www.stagecoachbus.com/ for timetables appropriate to your starting point. The nearest bus stops in Dundonald are within easy walking distance of the Castle Visitor Centre.

The nearest railway stations are Kilmarnock, Irvine and Troon; check http://www.firstgroup.com/scotrail/content/timetables/index.php for timetables appropriate to your starting point, bearing in mind that you will require bus or taxi from the above stations.
